Hello! I’m Megan from Florida
I’m a senior majoring in ASL.
We are in front of Chapel Hall,
the most recognizable landmark on campus.
It houses the National Deaf Life Museum,
which showcases both the history of the University
and over 158 years worth of the Deaf experience in America.
The Tower Clock is the iconic symbol of Gallaudet University.
President Abraham Lincoln signed Gallaudet’s charter in 1864,
and since then, all U.S. presidents have signed Gallaudet diplomas.
When you’re on campus visiting,
be sure to take a selfie of yourself on the Chapel Hall steps.
Take part in a longstanding tradition.
All kinds of groups mark a photo on the steps
incoming freshmen, student organizations, graduating classes and more.
We look forward to having you build your collection of Chapel Hall photos!
Welcome to Gallaudet
