Hi, I’m Anjel Perez from New York I’m double majoring in International Studies and Spanish and minoring in Theatre Arts. This is Elstad Auditorium, the site of many student productions and home of partnerships with professional theater companies. Here, students learn about theater, acting skills, set construction, and theatrical makeup. Gallaudet has a long history of alumni appearing in Hollywood movies like the Academy-Award winning CODA, There Will be Blood, and The Sound of Metal. TV shows like Sesame Street, New Amsterdam, and Switched at Birth. Not only have our alumni appeared in Hollywood films and TV shows but also on the national stage. For example, at the Kennedy Center in D.C. Broadway and Off-Broadway at New York. Some of the productions include Big River, Spring Awakening, Tribes, Children of a Lesser God, and many, many more! And what’s more, alumni have represented Gallaudet on a national stage, singing both the national anthem and the halftime show at the Super Bowl.
